As many of you who have read my posts realize, I am a K98 rifle collector first, even though I like the sleek look of a Luger. Anyway, while perusing one of my favorite K98 parts sites, I came across some real WW2 P.08 holsters that for the price look to be an outstanding deal. The merchant is located in Norway. He has tons of left over German Army equipment, and anyone who is interested in German militia should check out his site. His reputation in the K98 collector community is outstanding. I have never seen a negative feedback remark about his service. Here is his site:
http://www.geocities.com/bergflak/index.html The only catch with these P.08 holsters is that the original belt catches have been replaced with a US Army belt catch. The price is $70. He charges $20 bucks for shipping, so the total cost would be $90 bucks for one of these holsters. Is this a good deal? Mr. Jerry Burney, could you restore these to like new condition? Heydrich, You give me a lot of credit I must say! There is no real miracle cure here for holsters that have had this done to them. I have changed many of them for clients but there will always be little round plugs in the front and back where it is necessary to fill the holes. I, nor anyone else I know of, has figured out how to completely disguise these blemishes. I charge $35.00 to remove the foreign object, plug the holes and replace the belt loops. If it were an unusual or rare holster it could be worth it to salvage. The common run of the mill one would be a push. The rest of the holster is a consideration too...I wouldn't say it would be worth it for a ratty one either. I do not expect a rush on these as long as good examples of un molested holsters are to be found on the market.
I do appreciate your confidence however Heydrich. Thank you for thinking of me. Warm Regards, Jerry Burney
