Here is a "new" holster I bought from Russ, it is only marked with an 8 on the rear, there appears to be a marking on the inside, but it is so faint I can't tell if it is a Imperial clothing depot marking. Overall it is in good shape, stitching is tight and leather is nice.
There is one Bender's Luger holsters and accessories that is very close, but this one is pretty much a match for a "normal" luger holster. It is a nice holster and nice to have friends watching out for you! ![]() <a href="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/weimar004.jpg" target="_fullview"><img src="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/weimar004.jpg" width="400" alt="Click for fullsize image" /></a> <a href="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/weimar005.jpg" target="_fullview"><img src="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/weimar005.jpg" width="400" alt="Click for fullsize image" /></a> <a href="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/weimar006.jpg" target="_fullview"><img src="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/weimar006.jpg" width="400" alt="Click for fullsize image" /></a> <a href="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/weimar007.jpg" target="_fullview"><img src="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/weimar007.jpg" width="400" alt="Click for fullsize image" /></a> <a href="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/weimar014.jpg" target="_fullview"><img src="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/weimar014.jpg" width="400" alt="Click for fullsize image" /></a> <a href="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/weimar012.jpg" target="_fullview"><img src="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/weimar012.jpg" width="400" alt="Click for fullsize image" /></a> <a href="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/weimar016.jpg" target="_fullview"><img src="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/weimar016.jpg" width="400" alt="Click for fullsize image" /></a>

Any opinions? I don't believe it originally was for a Walther....
There are not stitching holes on the front, i.e. the strap is original, there aren't holes in the back (of the front of the holster, i.e. for the strap) for other holes that you can see from inside either. Ed

Ed, I think it is a commercial Luger holster. Maybe a private purchase or special order. Maybe some officer realized that you could'nt get a regulation holster unbuckled in a hurry.
If it was a converted model 6 holster. It would have holes in the flap, where the rod holder was replaced with a tool pouch. Also, look how low the opening is cut in the Walther holster. Ron

Ed, Are the bottom of the belt loops put on with nails bent over on the inside? Jerry Burney

hmmmmm, shows you how I have been busy, I hadn't realized!
Yes, they are very obvious form the back, but didn't realize they were nails? They are magnetic, and on the inside you can barely tell that they are bent down. The rear straps for the belt have been replaced at one time, as you can see in the pictures; Does the nails mean something, because I sure have never seen them before. <a href="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/scan0004.jpg" target="_fullview"><img src="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/scan0004.jpg" width="400" alt="Click for fullsize image" /></a> <a href="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/scan000b4.jpg" target="_fullview"><img src="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/scan000b4.jpg" width="400" alt="Click for fullsize image" /></a>
