Post HELP! KNIL Dutch Holster photo needed

Gentlemen, I am in need of some photo's and dimensions for the First type Dutch KNIL holster cleaning rod pouch. This is the one shown on page 379-380 of Bender's book Luger Holsters and Accesories. If you or anyone you know might be able to help with this I would really appreciate it. I believe the holster shown was at that time in the Mike Morris collection. Thanks fellows, Jerry Burney

Jerry,
I have a First Type as shown on page 379 without the external tool pouches. Tell me what you need.

Jerry,

Sounds like my friend's, Ed, holster found it's way to your shop...

Great that you will be able to make it whole, again...will you post a photo or two after your work...?

Also, cannot help with dimensions from an actual holster, but if you need more photos and do not have the following books, let me know and I can scan some and e-mail them to you :

"The Dutch Luger" book by Martens & De Vries; on pages 196 through 204.

"Nederlandse Vuurwapens" book by Martens & De Vries; on pages 35 through 36 (written in Dutch).

"Luger : The Multi-National Pistol" book by Kenyon; on page 117 (only a partial photo of a nice holster).

"Weimar & Early Nazi Lugers" book by Still; on page 299.

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

Pete, Yes please any photo's of the cleaning rod pouch area would be helpfull.

This is Ed's holster...I would like to find someone with an actual holster to give me a couple of critical measurements as well...Otherwise I will have to guess as to size...Any help would be appreciated, Thanks Jerry

Jerry,

I am embarrassed to say I cannot find your e-mail address. Please send it to "pebbink@pacbell.net" and I promise to add you to my Outlook contacts, forever...

I might not get to the photos until this Sunday as I have a work deadline this weekend, but will send you some nice high-resolution photos that show the tool pouch areas in close up...

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

Pete, My apologies...Please do not trouble yourself unnecessarily with the photo's as I will soon have an original sample in my hands. See below. I do however, thank you for going to all this trouble for me...

lugerholsterrepair@earthlink.net

My apologies also to my Friend Ron...I was scrolling too fast last night and missed the total of what he was telling me about having a type 1 Dutch Naval holster. It seems he has exactly what I am looking for and has more than graciously allowed me to look it over to pattern the parts I need to make for a client.

This is a great relief to me because I loath to make parts and add them to original holsters if I am not sure they are exactly right and period correct in every way. Almost the only way to make sure of this is to have an original off which to pattern. My deepest thanks Ron....Jerry Burney
