Hi.
I just got a new P08 with an unoriginal (long)barrel. The Norwegian police used original ex-German P08's after WWII. They were in the inventories to late 1980-s, but rarely used in the later years. The Norwegian police prefered .32 autos and 9 mm smg's. Later .38 revolvers and USM1 carbines were standard. Anyway. Since the 1950's up til today there has been "pistol-biathlon" competions between Norwegian and Finnish police officers. The Norwegians used (mostly) P08's and the Finns L-35 Lahti. True or not true, the Norwegians thought that the Finnish pistols were the better ones. It then became common to replace the original barrels with Finnish barrels made for the Finnish L-35 (pistol) This was done in some numbers. Different police districts and also, I'm told the same thing was done in the norwegian Air-force in Northern Norway. I would think we are talking about 100's of gun. Iâ??m sorry if thisis off-topic. I realise that this is not an original issue variant and that the gun si a shooter, but still I â??like itâ? and wanted to share this. Ketil
