Quick note......
I just tucked this server behind a different firewall - and in front of that, have tuned and set in place an acceleration server (which is new to this site/server).
For all that - you should notice a much improved speed difference in reading threads and posting new threads - especially for those that contain imbedded graphics and pics.... Enjoy..! |

John,
I can no longer log onto the whole site. I gotta go directly to the forum. I miss the firing Luger.

For "Lugertics" (lunatics afflicted with an uncontrollable fascination for toggle action handguns) you are being considered for sainthood. Thank you sincerely.

John,
I don't know what the other guys have but I am dial-up on a Mac. I am having long delays in getting some things to come up. I just waited for an hour trying to to get "Only one in the USA" under the 1900 section. What I want comes up almost immediately after I give up and hit the back button and then it quickly vanishes when the instructions for the 'back' button intructions take hold. This has happened before on this particular post. This has also happened before on some Kreighoff posts. Big Norm |

More than adequate response from my dialup at home John D.
BTW, Make sure you check your email for a message I forwarded to you regarding a 1936 Krieghoff Parabellum inquiry from a soon to be new member in Finland. Panu is his first name, don't recall the family name... This particular Krieg is SA (Finnish Army) marked, and he was told that the gun was issued with one of the German fighter aircraft sent to Finland during the war...

Well - Big Norm...
It *could be* your Avatar - which was pointing to an IP, which was ported over a few weeks ago to the new circuit, rathar then a domain name - so your browser kept looking for it. Did you happen to notice those "slow" threads were the one's you posted to?? Heh..! Yea - I changed it for ya'... John D,
thanks John. Much, much faster but still slow. But I was able to access the above mentioned site. But I still had trouble posting a reply. I got a message saying 'contacting host 642.205.178.87' on a bar at the bottom of my screen and I just sat there. This message disappears if I move my cursor. But I still just sit there. Big Norm |

AGE, I would go into "My Profile", choose Delete All Cookies Set by This Forum , since you are already entering your password each time. This will delete your cookie for this site, and then maybe it will work right.

Hey Ed/Age..!
It should work all the way 'round? Age - if you go here: http://www.lugerforum.com - can you tell me what you see (well - or don't see?? ) And Russ - and all...... Just my thanks!!!! If the site was slower this evening - it's because I was doing a back-up and rebuilding the serach index. I need to do that after changing the circuits/and placing a different firewall on the front end... Again - my apologies if the site seemed slower earlier tonite... Best to you! John D. |

Everybody,
The new link opens very quickly but the old one still doesn't open. The address seems to be the same so I just deleted the old "favorite place" and now will use the new one. Very strange but it works???? Thanks All

I cleaned my points and plugs. And put in a new carburetor kit. Checked the timing, but I think my pull cord is wearing out. Damn! The old HP just keeps chuggin' along.
John, It is pretty zippy!! Thanks! Ron

Thanks "esteemed tac" and Ron..!! Yep - I put a new batch of squirrels on the running wheel - and I'm also pleased with the "zippy" speeds
And Al - I have no idea what happened to your settings - BUT - I'm glad "all is well", now..!!! |

Hey Ed..!
Well - I'm at work too - and it's MIGHTY ZIPPY here. Of course - it may not be a fair test, as that server sits about 3 feet from where I'm typing this - so the electrons don't have too far to travel into the squirrel house.. BTW: Spilling chicker?? We don't need no danged spiller chicker... |

Hey, why don't you and your pretty wife use some of those damn airmiles and come out next weekend, I think we are taking a ride down to Jerry's, if he'll have us for the day!
