Post Canadian news

I ordered something for my wife's upcoming birthday and part of the packing that was used was a Canadian paper. "National Post" of Wed. July 23, 2003. Page A7 has an interesting article about non-compliance with the federal firearms registration laws by First Nations (Native American) peoples.

The summation is that only an estimated 1% of that population is registring their guns. A member of parliment for the Candian Alliance , Gary Breitkrewz, is quoted, "If you have criminal law that a certain segment of society does not comply with and you don't do anything about it, that makes a mockery of the Criminal Code. I believe that this is the begining of the end [of the reistry]."

It further talks of the grave consequences of this non-compliance. It is longer than I care to type but if John Sabato wants, I can mail the copy to him for posting.

This is directly affects our Canadian members but is probably of interest to all of us.

Good luck to our Canadian friends! <img border="0" alt="[bigbye]" title="" src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" />
