Post John V. Martz is recovering......

from a recent quad. bypass open heart surgury in late Nov... he is doing fine, but it has been tough on him as he is not a young man.. and he is recovering his strength slowly... It would be nice for all of his longtime customers & friends to send him a note, or a get well card, as he is a true gentleman, and is a living legend in my book! .......His address is: John V. Martz, 8060 Lakeview Lane, Lincoln CA 95648
Thanks, till...later....G.T.

Natalie and I will pray for his speedy recover. The man is a legend in his field! I have seen his work and been very impressed by it. I wish him all the best (always wanted to meet him)

I have never seen this gentlemans work, but once while reading Reeses book, I decided to do a crazy thing and I called John out of the blue. What a delightful man. I was a Luger newbie and he didn't know me from beans but he talked to me for three quarters of an hour about Lugers. What a class person. He sent me a personal letter and an application for a French Luger book that was about to come out and I still have that note. He also invited me to his shooting range for some shooting relaxation. John is right up there with Fred Bear of archery fame who I was fortunate enough to meet once. A suggestion by me would be that if something unsuspected happened to him, we should put a picture of him on the 'Luger of the Month' with a small note telling of his accomplishments. It would be a fitting tribute to a real gentleman.

Norm,

We no longer have a Luger of the Month... but I wholeheartedly support creation of memorial pages to those whose work in the Luger field was significant... Any other Nominations?

Joachim Goertz? Anyone have any photographs or a short biography on him?
