Wink So many LUGERS!

Here's the story,

I've been collecting WWII LUGERS & MILITARY P-38's...A small collection growing slowly with nice pieces ( I've been selective )...

Now lately I've been approched almost every second day by somebody with a LUGER or a P-38 for sale...

I am having difficult times resisting the temptation ( for nice / scarce pieces ) so I bought a 1912 ERFURT...to start an IMPERIAL LUGERS category...And I could buy one per day if I wanted...

Like a popular saying: So many LUGERS, So little money...

Anybody having that same temptation problem?

Thanks! ( I'd feel great knowing I'm not alone...)

Why do you want to start a fight? I haven't seen six Lugers for sale or even six Lugers for that matter in the last year. Huntsville is 100,000 plus population. And I look. Very little military stuff at all. Wish I had your problem.

Kidvett, you poor thing!! Just think, being inundated with the offer to buy nice Lugers. Boy, do I ever feel sorry for you. Why don't you just suck it up and buy them. Actually I really envy you. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

RK, there were five Lugers at the last show I attended just South of Atlanta.... the small town of Fayetteville, GA. That is unusual and ordinarily there are none. The fellow had a $500 shooter and then the prices jumped considerably.

Is it possible....no...no, COULDN'T BE...they have all been bought and sent to Canada and New Zealand or worse yet, boosted into Kreighofs and .45 carbines? There are P38s all over the place. Wonder what you could make out of them?

Wink

Well I'm sorry...I dont ever want to start a fight on the forum...I do get enough of those at work...

Let me tell you the story as it is here in Canada:

Firearms law in 1998 reclassified all handguns with a barrel lenght less than 105mm as PROHIBITED...That includes ALL MILITARY LUGERS!

So that war souvenir in the closet ( that was never registered in Canada.... has to be DESTROYED because it cannot be registered to a collector with the grandfathered prohibited class permit....Those LUGERS I buy them for parts. And there is a lot of them around that people are trying to sell ASAP.

As a known collector of fine firearms for 20 years I do have a lot of contacts and know a lot of people in the firearms business/ hobby.

Now for ROADKILL & other interested buyers:

There's a fellow around here ( he's calling himself a collector but I think he's there only to make a fast profit...)...anyway he buys every LUGER available in the country ( I cant tell you what he pays! ) to SELL THEM IN THE UNITED STATES!

Doing so, he's clearing the country of nice 4 inch pistols that CANNOT BE IMPORTED IN CANADA....So I dont think I'll ever have my 41-42 Code P-08 for my WWII collection...

So for those interested send me a private message and I could check things out for you....Lately he had an assortment of 1915/16/18 DWM & ERFURT, S/42 dated 1936/38 and some BYF's...
