Markings! Need Help
Hello: I just discovered Lugers and needless to say, I'm addicted. I was just given a real nice "42" dated 1940 with all matching numbers. Unfortunately it appears to have been "reworked" at one point. I don't believe the barrel is original, i.e. no serial

Under the Technical Information link on the left frame of our homepage, you will find Identification Sheets... record all the information they ask for and post the info here and you will be the proud recipient of answers to your curiosity... Post good clear photographs of the top view and both sides please... The photo upload link is also on the left frame of the homepage...

Welcome Leyla!
As John S stated, if you can gather information together, and post in scanned in or digital pictures, that would be great. If you need help, there is a photo tutorial that is under the help section, and if needed, I could post them for you. Ed

Hi Leyla, your Mauser should have both the numerical part of the serial number, as well as the bore diameter marked on the bottom of the barrel. If it does not, it's a replacement!

Boy what a great forum. I will certainly fill out the technical data sheet. On the right rear portion of the frame are two unusual markings that I can't identify. One marking appears to be a backwards letter C with a line under it. The other is a box with the number 20 inside. Does anyone recognize these markings? Thanks again.
