Post collections

Hi guys
I know this is a Luger forum and I do love my Lugers but was curious.
Do you giys collect just Lugers or do you collect different types of C&R's.
I really like the guns of the past.
I have 2 Lugers, a CZ70, a Walther P38, a Japanese Nambu and a Nagant revolver plus several C&R rifles.
I would like to someday get a Mauser Broom Handle.
how about you guys?

Hi merc,

I think most of the "gray beards" here started out similar: as gatherers, rather than collectors. I got my first piece, an Arisaka rifle, from one of my dad's buds when I was about 4 years old. From that beginning, I spent 40 plus years simply "acquiring" as many neat W.W.I-W.W. II pieces as I could glom on to.

Over the years, I had bunches of "broom's, loads of P-38s, all known Webleys, dozens of Browning HP, M1910, M1910/22, Thompson M1921, 28, M-1,

Merc,

I am interested in all kinds of early auto-loaders, and when I was...younger...I had a small collection of long guns (no longer).

Since I started collecting Lugers I have seen any number of other guns I considered buying, but then realized--the money I spend on this gun or that means money I don't have to spend on a Luger!

I liike older guns, have a smattering of WW2 guns, Webley, Arisaka, Enfield, Broom, etc., it pays to diversify, but major in on something to collect and "try" to get good at it,

I mainly collect Lugers, but have 3-PPK's, 4-PP's, 6-P-38's, 6-1911's (WWII), 1-HSC, 1-Sauer 38H. I used to collect sniper guns as well, but lost interest and traded them for more Lugers 42 now!

I collect only Lugers. I have about 40 or so. I like the Imperial era ones especially the artilleries and the navies. But I have strayed into the Kreighoff's and a few WW2 Lugers.
I have also have one CZ-27 and a Mauser Model-1934. While at two different garage sales, I met some widowers who were going to turn them over to the police to be melted down. The guns were great looking and I couldn't bear to see them destroyed. So I bought them. I also have one Borchardt which I consider the first Luger. I have one S&W that I bought at a time that I thought I would try some competitive shooting. Everything else are rifles and shotguns for hunting purposes.

I collect LUGERS & MAUSER P-38's. I do not miss on opportunities for NICE collector pieces, so I have a few of the following : C96, 1911's & other COLTS, Walther PP series...

From time to time I do make room ( sell a nice piece ) to get a ( or a couple ) nice Luger...

Past collections ( all sold... includes COLT SAA ( 2nd & 3rd Gen. ) & modern military AR/ SMG's...uzi's, MAC's, 16's,AK's, and so on...

Also have my shooters...32,38,9mm,357, 30, 44,45's and my carry guns ( modern stuff...)

Some hunting weapons complete the package....

For all on this, I've decided to limit myself to Luger/ P-38's collecting <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
