Nill Griffe grips

I have been quoted $275 Aus or about $165 US for a new pair of checkered Nill Griffe grips by a local distributor. Is this about right? Sounds kind of expensive to me, I mean they woud have to be *really* good for that kind of money in my books. I've never seen a pair in the flesh but I know some of you guys have, are they worth it?
