P 08 Real Stag Grips ??

I saw this on EBAY....Anyone know what they might be worth?...Anyone ever seen STAG GRIPS for a Luger before?

Hey Guys,

How is the color added to the grips ? Is it done with flames ? Or is the color naturally occuring ? Just curious...

Just like real ivory... I understand that soaking a very strong tea solution can add years of color "aging" to stag and bone grips...

Sambar stag grips are naturally that color. And darken with age. Also when handling them, the natural body oils will tend to darken them. They can be tea stained as John mentions. However, it does'nt work as well on stag as it does on ivory.
Sambar stag is banned from import, and the value is going out of sight. It's not unusual to pay $200 to $250 for a set. Depending on the pistol they are for. Ruger and Colt single action stags will sell for more. As do S&W grips.

Are all the SAMBAR Stag grips custom carved?
Are they made in the US?....When did importation stop?...and last...Did any company run "production" on these type of grips?
