On eBay at:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...EBWA%3AIT&rd=1 Apparently the result of the confiscation of private firearms by the British Government. A sad tale. Shipping to US from UK would be expensive, however. |

Yes, it is too bad that a supposedly free country lives in such fear of it citizens. I remember a special on TV about what Joseph Stalin did to the people of Poland when they first wanted to separate from the Soviet Union. He confiscated their weapons and brutalized them. I wonder if the entrenched power of the UK and Canada will eventually resort to that with their citizens. Oh well, at least the royalty can keep their weapons.

LU1900,
Yes, all my markings on the iron are marked the other way. From what I can tell from the pictures of the iron, the wood on the sides COULD be proper. But the pictures in the wood don't look right either. But that could be just because of the cameras flash. I could not see any proof marks on the wood. I have one stock which has the serial number on the wood on the stocks neck. At first, I though that I got stuck with a repro. But then I saw an example of it in Walters book, "The Luger Book". I can't find it now that I am looking for it. There is another odd placement of the serial numbers in the same book on page 245. The artillery that I have that matches that serial number is a 1918 artillery, so that may explain the placement. Big Norm |

Jerry,
if you want to talk about hypocrisy. There is a woman who is a leader in HCI who is married to a man who was President Reagans spokesman and who was handicapped when Brickley tried to assasinate the president. I forget her name now. She came to Michigan to lecture against guns at Wayne State University in Detroit. She carried a pistol into the schools auditorium and waived it around on stage before handing it to a high up police officer. THE SCHOOL HAS A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY. Of course she did this while her bodyguard sat near her with his hand in a gun case. I guess it pays to be a celebrity. Only the little people can't have guns. Big Norm |

Norm, sounds like something Sarah Brady would do. Her husband, James Brady, was paralized from wounds he suffered in the attempt on President Reagan's life and she's the top Spokeswoman for HCI.

Doubs,
thats the woman that I was thinking about. She waived that pistol infront of an auditorium full of withness' knowing that she was immune from the law because of her celebrity status. I heard about it from a bunch of guys at a gun show who were going to night school at that university. No mention of it was made in our informative (?) newspapers. Big Norm |

Big Norm, I had not heard of this incident but nothing would surprise me concerning this bunch. I am old enough to realize it is not a perfect nor fair World but that is exactly why the playing field must be leveled with the carrying of firearms for the sole purpose of self defense. When I was a young Paratrooper I could fight my battles with whatever came to hand and felt confident doing it. At 54 with a bad back I need help and thankfully Col. Colt has given me a helping hand to protect myself and my Family. I carry a Colt Cobra .38 wherever I go.The Luger is fine for a military weapon and is my passion to study but the revolver is my preference for defense. Jerry Burney

I've often wondered about the legality of Senator Schumer bringing an AK-47 into the Senate Chambers for display during one of his frequent anti-gun rants. If nothing else, he's in violation of DC's gun control laws and I'm unaware of anyone with the authority to give him permission to break the law for the purpose of "show & tell".
