I wanted to disassemble the pistol, but can't get past the part where the safety catch is tapped out. The instructions say strike the frame at the rear with the handle of a screwdriver)in order to tap out the safety catch. Can someone please explain what actually happens here. I don't understand. TIA

Welcome, sir. I'll offer a suggestion or two. Just for starters, leave the safety latch alone.
I mean the lever on the rear of the frame on the left side. Take gun, remove magazine, clear weapon, take off grips (be careful with left side grip, don't break off top right corner)set out of the way. Place barrel muzzle down on a cloth on a table, push straight down until top assembly(cannon) moves about 1/4" to rear, then rotate the take down lever, also called locking nut, down 1/4 turn. This is the lever in front of the trigger. Might be stiff. If the side plate does not fall off then gently pry it up from the left side of it. The right side is locked down. Then slide the cannon assembly to the rear. Top and bottom of gun will come apart. Pull toggle up till it unlocks, push out rear pin in the frame from right to left. Take toggle assembly out of frame by pulling to the rear. Push out the pin from either side that holds bolt to the toggle link. Use a screwdriver to push down on and rotate the center of whatever the part is called that holds the firing pin in.There is a slot tht must be located before it will turn. It, the spring, and the firinig pin - its a fat funny looking cylinder with a hole in it- will then drop out. Don't recommend taking out the mainspring or safety unless you have to, not impossible but difficult. If you have any problems come on back, there are dozens of real experts here (and I don't mean me) who really know these guns. rk |

Thanks,
Turns out most of this is a snap. I didn't push out the pin that holds the bolt to the toggle link. It didn't want to move so I didn't force it. Hatch |
