Not in an area I am sure with, I have a chance to pick up a K date, all matching with "s" on all parts, clip looks forced matched as it was buffed flat and restamped with SN, about 60% blue looks rather washed over in its discoloration, still all matching and seller is asking 3k???...is this a deal or not??thanks for any help

K-dates are probably the most (after 1917 Navy guns)likely to be boosted. Pls be *extra* cautious. If you have never owned a K-date, get help from someone who has and go over every millimeter of it with a loupe and an Ott light or other corrected light.
Having said that,I think the price is too steep. Tom A. |

I got a very healthly (over $2K) offer for my restored K date with two matching mags that were advertised as BUILT to match the pistol. The pistol was presented as Restored by me also. It was not for sale but heck K Dates do claim the big bucks. Simpson has one for $13K as I remember. Mine is marked with a Thor rework mark.
Krazy dollars floating around. <a href="http://members.rennlist.com/lugerman/ThorK4.jpg" target="_fullview"><img src="http://members.rennlist.com/lugerman/ThorK4.jpg" width="400" alt="Click for fullsize image" /></a> <a href="http://members.rennlist.com/lugerman/ThorKdate2.jpg" target="_fullview"><img src="http://members.rennlist.com/lugerman/ThorKdate2.jpg" width="400" alt="Click for fullsize image" /></a> <a href="http://members.rennlist.com/lugerman/ThorKdate12.jpg" target="_fullview"><img src="http://members.rennlist.com/lugerman/ThorKdate12.jpg" width="400" alt="Click for fullsize image" /></a>

Howard, I would say that 3K is about twice the value of a cold blue washed K-Date. That's a bit higher than the price you might pay for a restored K-Date Luger
