I just noticed "The Luger P.08, Vol. 2: Third Reich and Post-WWII Models"(Classic Guns of the World)
by Luc Guillou and Georges Machtelinckx Hardcover – July 28, 2021 is selling on Amazon.com for $22.11 I have Volume I and I enjoyed it very much. It's beautiful book with really great detailed photos, that cover Luger variations over the years. It does have some obvious mistakes - usually typos, some of which might be from poor translations. Occasionally, they get left and right references reversed, as well. But what I do like about the book is the side by side comparison and the up close details, often with arrows or circles to point out the tiny details. The differences in the 1900 vs the 1906 is really interesting. It's not a historical reference, it's really more about the variations in Lugers and the accessories. Vol 2 is the Third Reich and Post-WW-II era. |
