I like old black and white pictures. I think monochromatic spectrum reveals a lot of interesting character and details . In my opinion colors sometimes blind or distract the perception.

Well, here,s my maternal G.G.father, a Kuban River Cossack who I believe fought in WW2 for on the opposite site.
I believe his was rank a low officer,s range.
I wonder what,s his side arm was. Can,t make out. I have only digital reprint of his enlarged grainy photo, no original.
