An importer friend of mine is also telling me that he is working on getting the last Korean stocks released.
Happy days are here again?

Any idea of what the rifles will most likely cost?

This is a sure sign that things are, once again, right in the world...
Prices are hard to predict, but it used to be that rack grade would run around $700, on up for rare or better condition. Go to the ODCMP website and poke around. It's always interesting.

I can tell you that all those ridiculous $1,700 Gunshow Garand asking prices are going to drop.

Doug if the current pricing is $1700 for rack grade at gun shows, you owe me $950.00

Just kidding Doug... I hope your son was happy with his birthday present.

I would not expect them to be very "nice"; more like "junque".

Yes, exactly. I hope they are in better condition than some of previous rifles that were brought back.

LOL! Hi John,

Yes, it is Chris' favorite rifle. He may even compete with it in the near future. Yes, local dealers started asking stupid money when the rumor was out that the CMP "had run out" of Garands. The price gouging has reached epic proportions, especially since the rich snowbirds arrived. It looks like Cabelas. None moving at that price, but the first thing they say to you is "find another one".

Us consumers will be laughing now.

no offense, but from what i have seen and heard, that when the huge amount of danish and then the huge amount of greek returns came back - prices did not drop but the next January they went up at CMP - I think it might stabilize prices, but it won't drop drastically - perhaps in comparison, rifles will seem cheaper, but i doubt they will go below CMP prices, now $730 for rack grade (approx) and up.

Unless junk and I think 30-40% will be junk and parted and then there will be a bunch in decent shape and some ceremonial rifles that will be in very nice shape. Won't know until it might happen - we could see them by end of summer or end of summer 2019.

The 1911a1's are still sitting in US Army stock (although rumor is that a number are sitting waiting at CMP for official word, with promised 10k a year since what, 2 years ago?

Are you guys part of a club recognized by the cmp? For a few years I've wanted to find a club recognized so I could go there and purchase an m1. Anyone been to the Ohio store? Do they even have anything in Stock or do we wait for the new arrivals?

I doubt that an on-line forum suffices as a club in the eyes of the CMP. Regarding their available rifles search their website, odcmp.com. They have a few but it looks pretty slim right now.
I also doubt that the Philippines Garands are ready for distribution, if they are even in the country yet.

You don't necessarily need to belong to a "shooting" club. I'm a member of the TSRA, Texas State Rifle Assoc., which qualifies.
Go to the link on the CMP's website and find a club that you can join.

I wasn't referring to any online site

Cool, thanks. Their website is a bit cumbersome and I doubt they have everything listed there anyway. Brick and mortar stores usually contain way more.

Sorry, I misunderstood.
Yes, I belong to a club that is recognized by the CMP.
