As I recall "The Switch" (Union Switch and Signal, Swissvale, PA) had some real problems with standardization and interchange early on in their contract. There were not that many made with their roll mark by the end of the war. I have a friend that works there today, and have always been interested in them.
You have to wonder if this industrial film was made as much to show how complicated it was to make a M1911a1, or to publicize US&S's war industry efforts...
