At age 8 I remember a U.N.C.L.E. toy pistol set that was very close to a P38. Never got one though.

12 years later used a real one as service pistol.

That's another one of my favorites too. There were a lot of Lugers showing up. Of course it was always in the hands of the "bad guys"

I loved the way that team wrapped up the opposition.

The recent flicks with Tom Cruise disappointed me. Only went as far as the second one.

I agree with you! The world was a different place and we loved our hero! It really replaced our prior family westerns!

Ah! But I still love my Westerns.

And a few of the late ones are exceptional.

"Unforgiven" comes to mind. One of the best Westerns ever IMHO.
