I remember a video where they drained a castle moat in Eastern Europe and turned up like 5 of them. I've never been able to find that video again.

Think about the end of the 12th and 9th German Armies as they fled from the Russians and crossed the Elbe River bridge at Tangermünde to surrender to American Forces between May 4 and May 7, 1945. They were told to toss all weapons in the river - thousands of weapons, helmets and other gear... and all you need is a magnet...
