Default Aclu???

Please help.
I caught the very end of this news story. Hopefully I misunderstood or did not get it straight, but I think I heard the ACLU and the families of the Sandy Hook shooting are filing suit again the gun manufacturer for not properly labeling the firearm that it could cause harm.
Please understand that my heart goes out the families of the victims but common sense should enter here. If a judge does not throw this out, we are in deep @#%^&.

Like a "label" would do what a "law" will not.
One has to wonder how some brains work, or maybe don't function.

Very sad situation, but last time I checked murder carried the severest penalty we dole out;
it that doesn't stop someone - nothing will. JMHO.

They are making an issue of putting a "military weapon" into civilian hands so as to do an end run around the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act.

This act was passed to protect innocent arms manufacturers and dealers when firearms are used in crimes.

Under the complaint, their legal theory is that an "military assault weapon" like a Bushmaster M4 / AR15 should not be made available to a civilian.

It's possible that they jurisdiction shopped to get a sympathetic judge in order to ultimately challenge the law and render it ineffective.

The same legal theory could apply to our Lugers, and impact collectors and dealers since there are no current manufacturers.

This is one of a pattern of actions used to weaken Second Amendment protections in our society and culture.

As I recall, the shooter at Sandy Hook did his dirty deeds with pistols. The said rifle was later found in his vehicle.

The article does not mention the ACLU and a quick Google search also did not show ACLU involvement. If they are it would be news to me, I don't remember them getting involved in this type of case.

I do know that the NRA and ACLU recently worked together in re: litigation on the NSA phone metadata program.

Adam Lanza used a Bushmaster brand AR. He had some (two ?) pistols. Most of the murder was done using the rifle. He took the rifle from his mothers house after killing her. The video from the helicopter showed a shotgun being removed from the truck of his vehicle.

May he burn in Hell.
