A little help wit a Bavarian Unit Marking?
I'll post a photo shortly, but this is on a 1910 DWM, in excellent condition. All matching including a magazine. Marking is way down on the bottom of the front grip strap.
B19.R3.10. Thanks! |

I am going with: 19th Bavarian Regiment, 3rd Company, 10th Weapon.
The placement of the periods throws me a bit and I will defer to the more learned forum members to correct me if I am off base and steer it back to the correct path. Bavarian examples are an unfortunate hole in my collection at this point but am working on it! Chris |

Doug, are you certain that the marking has a "B" in it? Jeff Noll and I have listed fewer than ten Bavarian unit marked 1910 DWM P08s and the total for 1910s is in the hundreds. Bavarians and Wurtembergers tend to dominate the 1908s and 1911s.

Hi George,
It looks like a partially struck "B", but This image may help the group form a better opinion. I also offer a correction. Owner now clarifies that the Chamber Date is 1913, NOT 1910 and the serial number is 914, with no suffix. Sorry for any confusion. |
