Default RIA DWM at auction

Hi all,

I was not really sure where to post this.

I would like to get opinions about this luger which is coming up at RIA this weekend.

What got my attention is that it is Unit Marked to a cavalry unit. What is a turn off is the finish which certainly looks original but also in very poor condition.

Please let me know soon.

PS: if you have a unit marked cavalry pistol with a 95-98% finish, I'd be interested in working a deal.

thanks,
Richard

73 vs 76, exposed outside,,, if you selectively collect high-end Lugers, why does this one look attractive?

because the unit marking is so rare

the finish you are looking for is pretty hard to find I would think....

I would have no qualms in purchasing this pistol. I think the finish is more than acceptable for a pistol that was issued and saw service over 100 years ago.

Changed the link to another one? It was a 1913 DWM earlier Now, it's a 1910.

This 1910 does look better IMO. Agree with others, every gun has a context, you should expect and accept this condition if you collect unit marked Lugers. Higher condition with unit mark is not impossible, but high risk area. Those two are not quite compatible.

Can you post a link to the pistol?

George,
I know you have a bit of trouble discriminating colors...Richard did post a link to the pistol, the link is the word "luger" (colored red) in his statement "I would like to get opinions on this luger which is coming up at RIA this weekend".

After being told of the RED, I located it. B/4 it wasn't noticeable on my screen.
Some computers and browsers pick up items differently.
Thanks
Jack

Thanks Ron. I don't find the finish a problem. I have a 1910 marked to the 4th Ulanen with matching mag, holster and loading tool.

yes, I find it easier to just put the direct link here, too many folks don't understand the link embedded in the word

Alvin,

Yes. I did not mean to link to the 1913 at all. I had the wrong link copied to my buffer when I first posted and only realized my mistake after I had posted and checked the link.

Then I edited it to the correct 1910 pistol.

You must have read the post just before I corrected the link.

Richard
