I bet some people, if ever this thread will be red, by now is wondering "what the hell happened 71 years ago? Ahh yes the D.DAY, uhh it was such a long time ago, why have we got to rember it every year?"
Well I would just say at least 4,400 soldiers died on those beaches just on the first day, and especially here in Europe we cannot afford to forget it, unless we want history to repeat itself again. Sergio

From memory a lot more than 4,400 were lost that day: American, English, etc.
