Popperts parts any good?
Anyone have experience with http://www.poppertsgunparts.com/index.htm ? Some items on his luger parts list are priced much lower than items I've seen on Ebay and Gunbroker. I'd like to know if Popperts parts are good or junk. I'm trying to prepare for future breakage. Thanks.

I've not bought from them before, but be aware the listing page for Luger parts was last updated 10/99!

I know they are located north of Philadelphia in PA. I have seen their website before many years ago...but have never visited or purchased anything from them. I am suspicious of their parts prices...(if it is too good to be true, it probably isn't) ... They also are not located too far from SARCO, Inc., in Easton PA, and their prices may be an old SARCO list...
their phone number is on their website. Give them a call during business hours and see if they have anything in stock, and let us all know.

I think I emailed them once and never received a reply.
Plus, if they were a lively biz, I would expect to to see them at the Allentown show, unless I simply don't recognize the name |

I have tried to order parts from them years ago, I don't think he has any P.08 parts in stock. I always emailed him for the parts availability and would ge a response stating none were left. Might have all the other parts he lists...

I also tried to order some Luger parts from them some time ago and they had zero Luger parts in inventory.

I have ordered parts from Popperts Gun Parts in the last few months and have been happy with the service and the parts.
Of course,I was ordering parts for a original Whitney Wolverine. Pretty sure it is a one man operation. I called and Mr.Poppert verified he had the parts. He took my CC info and I got the parts a few days later in the mail. Parts were new. I did my happy dance! Bob

Wow, I'd love one of the old ones! I have a buddy who offered a LGS $200 for one, since it was missing some parts, and they made a deal. There's one tiny dealie that is commonly lost when cleaning. I forget who took Whitney over, but parts are available there, and my shrewd friend knew this. Too bad the new guns are plastic, and shaped a bit differently than the originals. There's a chrome/mother of pearl original in the next RIAC. You. too, can feel like George Jetson!

That little dealie is the firing pin retainer. Guaranteed to get lost if not very careful.
If you love Chinese puzzles, you will love doing a detail strip on a Whitney. Bob
