Finally, after 9 yrs, the son of the veteran that liberated them, sold them to me. All serials match to include the spare mags.

First of all congratulations on your Lugers & holsters.
Personally I think that I would like to see some more close pictures just to have some sort of idea about your two new guns. Sergio

Both appear to be police guns, so the alloy based magazines are re-issue items.
How about some more photos, full and closeups on both guns? dju |

Congratulations! Your magazines have been stored in the leather holsters and the green hue on them is EATING OFF the nickel coating of your magazines.

What can I use to remove the "green"? Or should I leave it alone?

Since it is a bit greasy in consistency, a mixture of vinegar and a 1/2 squirt of Dawn for dishes will cut it. You can also use baking soda, at the other end of the pH scale. Use non-scratching plastic scrubber, toothbrush, terrycloth rag to prevent damage to any remaining finish/ surface. Dry those suckers off immediately (recommend compressed air or a good shaking, wiping, and a warm, well ventilated place such as on the radiator or heat vent) and use those wooden faux-mags to hold the shape of the pockets on the holsters! And before I forget, nice guns, man!
