Default Number of pistols in inf regt

Does anyone know approx how pistols would be in a regular Inf Regt at the start of WW1? I assume that all officers and some senior NCO's would be so equipped as well as some support troops-correct?

Thank you,
Foxdoublegunner

Foxdoublegunner:

In 1914, a “typical” infantry regiment had 90 P.08s within its 3 battalions and its machinegun company had another 80 P.08s for a regimental total of 170 Lugers. My source for this information is “Handbuch Deutscher Waffenstempel” by Wacker and Gortz.

Of course, this assumes I translated German correctly. Perhaps someone more familiar with this information or more fluent in German can confirm this number…..

Ron,
Thank you for this info. It was very helpful. I couldn't find anything on the internet. It gives me a better perspective on how rare my unit marked P08 is.

Regards,
Ricardo

Ricardo:

You are welcome!

Should have included in my first post above that the numbers of P.08 I extracted are listed on pages 151 and 152 of the Handbuch Deutscher Waffenstempel.
