sear safety rivet...

can anyone take some nice, decent, close up pictures of the sear safe attaching rivet head, on a Luger they have with the sear safe??...

... The rest is pretty much self explanatory ... but there are countless rivet head shapes... If you can help out, I'd sure appreciate it... best to all, til...lat'r....GT

GT. The originals had more of dome shape than the ones that I sent. Unfortunately, the only ones that I can find like that are brass (or plated). I'll send you a couple for inspection. Thanks for your trade, received today. Tom

Here are a couple of rivet head photos. First is from my father's 1939 bringback Banner so I know it is correct. The second is from a 1941 Banner with a different shape.

Hi Tom, the first one shown is referred to as a "truss" style, and the second as "universal" I've seen both, and neither is readily available, to me anyway?...

.. but think the truss is certainly period correct as you have stated.... Thanks a bunch, it all helps me a'lot! ....

OK, hi to all! Here's what I've discovered so far..... As you might suspect, the rivets are the easy part!!!!

... I have discovered that all were done with a large variance in position and tolerance... There is a variance in the distance from the edge of the receiver, and also a variance in distance between the holes on a linear measure?? So, what does this mean?? Well, if you are re-riveting an original sear safety back on it's original receiver, or re-riveting it to tighten it up on it's original receiver.. then all that is needed is a new rivet, as of now, nooooo problem!! ...

... BUT, if you want to reinstall a sear safety device from one receiver, onto a totally new application on another receiver.. you might encounter some issues... I'm thinking it's a crap shoot! maybe 50% interchangeability??... So, That's it... so far... more to come..BTW, the rivets turned out perfect... best to all, til...lat'r....GT
