Price guide for Lugers
Hello All,
I am looking for a price guide for Lugers. I know a reference specifically for lugers probably does not exist; but, it may be a part of a larger guns price index. I have heard of Blue Book of Gun Values. I am not sure if this is the best reference. Thanks for your thoughtful suggestions... Richard

I have always considered the "Blue Book of Gun Values" to be my best friend when the seller is using it.

Richard, any price guide is invariably out of date quick. And none I have found seem to be realistic for collector guns - to low or too high
I check major gun dealers, check gunbroker and see what the sell point is at gun shows. gun dealers I figure 20-40% higher than between you and me |

Although I do buy The Blue Book I find it inconsistent. I attend many firearms auctions every year as well as gun shows and find the prices are simply what someone is willing to pay. I've seen $300.00 guns go for over $1000.00 and $5000.00 guns sell at $1500.00. Today it seems panic buying controls the market.

Simpson, Ltd. may be a source for comparison. Of course knock off a pretty good percentage from their asking price.
