Default Front sight question :|

My recently aquired 1900 Commercial has an integral front sight on the original barrel. All of the pictures I have seen show a dovetailed front sight, even on the early model Lugers. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Default Re: Front sight question :|

I've seen some of these M1900s where the front sight base is just pinned to the barrel, fall off. Perhaps some later gunsmith silver sodered on a broom type front sight. I've seen this as a factory replacement for LPO8s that had a jammed fine-tune front sight removed at the rear of the sight base (barrel shortened half an inch). Tom h
