Today is a unique day in history. For the first time Thanksgiving and the first day of Hanukkah occur on the same day. The Jewish calendar slowly gets out of sync with the Gregorian calendar at the rate of 4 days every 1000 years, so this simultaneous event will not happen again for another 70,000 years! Many Jewish communities have recognized this rare event and even given it a name…Thanksgivukkah!
So on this day of giving thanks as we reflect on the blessings we have received I wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving and in addition a happy Thanksgivukkah for all the Jewish members of our collecting family. May God continue to bless us all. Ron
