Default 1920 Luger

Gents, came across this one and it was described as an ex military or re issue luger. Being 1920 and along with the Mauser banner does this make this a commercial luger or police luger or just a civil luger?

Again many thanks for any info

Cheers

Ben

Just reading the forum threads, looks like it is a Police luger, it seems Mauser made lugers from the early 1900's through to the end of WW2 and probably carried on after the war.

parts gun

the 1920 is a gov't marking (see the FAQ)

Mauser was not making lugers when the 1920 was stamped (a very few exceptions by unit armorers on a G date is knwn, but most were 1920 or 1921 -- IT IS NOT A DATE BTW)

A reissue would almost never not have crossed out numbers before WW2 ended, I would say the crossed out / forced numbering is post war

sorry, no

It does have the mauser hump (see FAQ) which was a change in the late 30's (?)

so frame is Mauser, the upper is partly pre-Weimar

What are the markings on the right?

Judging from the Russian capture marking on the receiver and the X-ed out serial numbers on the replacement parts, this has some properties of a VoPo version. Looks like there is an additional marking under the takedown lever, any chance of a close up of that?
