Default old DWM magazine binding

pictured is an old DWM magazine that came with a p.08 i inherited. the follower will depress only enough to load two rounds before becoming incredibly hard to depress. the other magazine i have has no such issue.

i'm wondering if there are common things i can look for. i've examined the interior for obstructions and found none. the spring is in good working order and i tried temporarily swapping the spring guide, spring, and baseplate with known good ones but it still binds.

i'm thinking the magazine body is slightly deformed somehow but can find no evidence of it.

suggestions?

Default Mag issues!

I'm going to bet on the inside of the mag shell has some roughness because of the corrosion that seems to be prevalent on the mag shell... even the new made mags suffer from this when the have metal followers .. I can make it work better..... I just keep swapping out followers until we win!!!....... That's why I need followers from you guys!....... I don't charge for them in the repair!!!!!!!!.. any way, best of luck to you, til...lat'r....GT...

Also, you really should not be forcing springs down on an antique, wooden based magazine. You will eventually split the wood base and seriously detract from the magazine's value.

I would not use that magazine, just clean it as well as possible then keep it without forcing it.

I basically agree, but it wouldn't be a bad thing if G.T. got it working again.

Definitely have GT Rehab that magazine... and then as others have said, put it away for safekeeping and buy another mag if you intend to shoot your Luger...

Sounds good, I'll keep it as it is for now, as I have a different magazine I can use in a blue moon.
