1911 DWM 2 war Luger (reblued)
I have a 1911 DWM with unit marking. This gun was taken by a friend from a Nazi officer in southern France in September of 1944.
It was apparently in the hands of the German military until that time. He brought it home where it stayed in his drawer until now. I now have been told that it has been reblued. I am at a loss for how this happened in less the German military took weapons in and reblued them as part of servicing them. Does anyone have info on this? |

Welcome to the forum!
A look at the pistol would tell us much. Yes, the Germans refinished and repaired pistols on an as needed basis, so anything is possible. |

Anything is possible, but when I have seen rearsenaled Lugers, they were strawed and redone very well.
I do agree that many guns were fixed by unit armorers, but unlikely to be reblued... Pictures would help much, also, why did they say reblue? Ed
