Broomhandle Bolo VL&D Near Mint Question
I have examined the gun it is serial 40592 with all matching numbers and it is original blue and straw very minty, but with some patina and wear , also the markings are over the blue where correct to be like that. Here is the problem. The lock up block and sear are numbered 592, but........ the the 9 was made by using the 5 upside down! Same font, and size and not a trace of evidence of forced matching. These are clean single stikes on perfect metal. Is this possible? Looks original to me. What is the gun worth? Believe me it is high condition and original but with this abnormality. Sorry can't get pictures until I purchase. Any input on price and the odd numbers is appreciated! It priced at $3500 now, no stock with it.
The gun is in this condition, actually a bit better: http://www.rockislandauction.com/vie...id/57/lid/3527 Last edited by CJS57; 11-03-2012 at 09:13 AM. |

I clicked on that link, but what I saw was a 1930 Mauser. Not Bolo.
Prewar Bolo does not show up often. May we take a look? Thanks. |
