Default Valley of the sun

Just some heads up.......

It's been 70-80's here(locals still wear a thin jacket).

Phx/Mesa/etc.- is a LARGE area. Still working on freeways.

Plan hour travel time between locations.

-Warring: people still haven't learned how to drive here-watch out!!

There are many things to see here(beside malls).

You can see the WORLD CHAMP DIAMONDBACK'S ballpark(bank one).Suns might be playing-lossers!!

We have the largest park in the world(hike/bike).

Golf- # I don't know(lots!). In the winter, golf isn't cheap!

Zoo's,art mus.(have picture that inspired GLADIATOR),public buildings.

Display of "forbidden city-china" on now.

The desert is always fun to see-vast nothing.

Phx/area; is new.Growth started 20yrs ago.You can even see what passes f/ houses out here(chicken wire+stuco).

Too bad you all aren't comming here in Aug.-I love to introduce people to 112........

Default Re:Driving Tips!

Ten Phoenix driving tips:

(1)That loud boom may not be a backfire. Many out here carry a gun under the front seat if not on them.

(2)Try not to cut off the other driver and by no means give him the finger.(See tip #1)

(3)Never mind the big cactus and the pretty blond on the side walk. The guy in front of you just stop short.

(4)On the freeways use the middle lane. Only use the left lane for speeding. This will explain why the guy behind you is 6 inches off your bumper for doing 55. Far left diamond lane is for car pool 2 or more.

(5)Most don't mind the 65-75mph signs, everyone usually goes 10 or more over. And remember at least 2-3 cars will go through a red light after it changed.

(6)If you see and hear a fire truck, ALL traffic in both directions must pull over and come to a stop. It's a great way to get rear ended if the other guy is not watching.

(7)Only people from back east use their turn signal. This does not apply to blue hair old ladies.

(8)Gas is around a buck or little less a gallon. There's nearly 4 gas stations on every corner with 18 pump islands. We pump our own while cleaning the windshield.

(9)Remember to cover up and lock up everything you own. This aint the farm.

(10)No you didn't make a wrong turn. Some roads out here change name between city. Don't worry if the road you are driving on isn't on your map. We pave new highways on a daily bases.

In all you will do just fine and have a great time. It is a experience driving here if you come from a small town.

Default Dinner Fashion Statement....

BEFORE your wife even asks (as Jen and Minta Clark now have!) - please let her know that the fashionable dress for the for the "in" crowd at The Country Club is "casual" - so anything from nice pants, pant suit, skirt or dress should be fine. For us guys - dress is business casual - chino's, nice pants, polo shirt, or button down are all great.

And please, while I'm sure many of you guys were planning on bringing your tuxedos/dinner jackets and/or coat and ties - they aren't required...

Best to all!

Bob, are you sure your not talking about Albuquerque?

Thor should not have any problems with the traffic over there. It will be just like home.

Sid.

Forgot to add.....

Pre-seaon baseball here!

Medievil fair(eat turkey legs)

Really, it's a "free-for-all" here.

People get killed everyday. Phx., is #1 f/ killing people on sidewalk!

Honestly, the WORST drivers live/die here-sometimes bad!

Walk softly............
