Default Introduction

Gents,

I thought I would introduce myself to the group. I just found your website the other day and signed up. I have only just started trying to educate myself about a possible future purchase of a Luger.

The short story is my son, 17, has always been fasinated with WWII ever since he was little and I've endulged him a bit, mostly through the CMP. He's saved his money for a K98 and is working toward a Enfield at the moment, and has always talked about a Luger.

Anyway, if nothing changes too much I thought maybe that could be a nice Highschool graduation present if he continues on his present course and doesn't go all stupid in the next year.

I'll probably just be a lurker, trying to learn as much as I can in order to make an informed purchase, but wanted to say 'hello'.

Robb

Welcome aboard Robb. I have learned a lot over the past couple of years just listening (okay, reading). There are a lot of people on this forum that have vast knowledge about Lugers. There is a good group on here also that know how to refurbish the whole pistol or just specialized parts. You can also find Luger parts and accessories here. It's a great place.

Robb, Welcome to you and your son to the forum.

This forum is international in it's membership and the depth of information available from members is, frankly, astounding.

It's a most constructive community and you'll find answers here that are not available anywhere else.

It's great to hear of a young man with a serious interest in this history, and wonderful that you can do these things to encourage it.

Again... Welcome!

Marc

Welcome! I also am new to the Luger world, and just acquired my first Luger recently. Having to start from ground zero in the Luger world is a daunting task, but the tremendous knowledge and camaraderie of this forum is a HUGE help. Rubbing (virtua) shoulders with the experts who LITERALLY wrote the book(s) on all things Luger is a inspirational thing. I know your time here will be as valuable to you as mine has been!

Thanks, I appreciate it.
There's alot of information to try to absorb here, I'm glad I found this site. If it actually does come to pass, hopefully I can make an informed decision on a purchase.
