Default police luger unknown era

Guys, has anyone seen one like this or any idea ? It's a 1914 dated police with an unnumbered barrel, only a crown U. The grips are numbered to the gun, although it is not matching. The bore is mint. The grip marking is " Polieziverwaltung. Neuwied " There are no import marks.

Thanks and God bless........ Myky

Google Translate shows:

Police Administration. Neuwied

Neuwied is a town in Western Germany in the Rhineland.

Don, here's a better scan . It's so small it's hard to scan.

Mike, thanks for the sn. The municipal police departments in smaller German cities and towns were known generally as Polizeiverwaltungen. In 1925, Neuwied had about 20,000 residents and its police force was a local one. These police did not have any state agency specifying how to mark weapons so, if they marked them at all, it was up to their imaginations. You don't see many of these types of markings.
