My sons boss recently purchased this dagger from an estate sale. I know nothing about these items , however I do remember from my years of activity on this site that a few of our fellow members are knowledgeable about these. I would like to know as much information about this dagger as anyone can give me or be directed to a site that can. Thanks , Craig

Very nice 2nd model luftwaffe (air force) dagger. Most you see still dont have the gold guilding on the saz. Is it made by eickhorn (maker on the blade). It has the correct hangers but the knot is off a sword. The silver cord is a shooting award from the army.

Post you photo over at the aptly named "German Daggers" site for further opinions on condition and valuation.
Good luck! http://www.germandaggers.com/ |

Thank you all, for the information. I am now the proud owner of the items pictured. My oldest son presented it to me as a fathers day gift. I am overwhelmed. I do not collect these, however I will cherish it forever. As a Luger collector I will take some photos with it alongside my Simson, should make a nice pair. Thanks again and I really appreciate your replies. Craig

Thank you Tom, I have two sons and I am proud of both. Earl, the blade has an eichorn makers mark, it is located under the nazi emblem so is hard to see. I have joined the German Dagger website to gleen more information. Thanks again to all of you for your help. God bless. Craig
