This gun has been in our family for many years, but I have never researched any details about it.
My main question is about the approx. value. Is it worth $100, $500, $5000 or what. I've taken some closeup pictures of any markings I could find on the gun. If anybody can shed some light on the origin or exactly what type of Luger this is and what the approx. value would be that would be appreciated. Thanks, Dave |

Also, I did locate all the serial numbers and they all appear to match.
Thanks, Dave |

Welcome to the forum!
Your gun is a commercial Luger made in the 1920's for export to the US. I can't see if it has a letter code under the serial number on the front of the frame, which would make it an Alphabet commercial. It appears to have been reblued at least once and then suffered from poor storage and someone's attempt to remove rust with a harsh abrasive. |

Great, thanks alanint. I don't see any letters under or near the S/N 80953.
Any idea what it might be worth? Thanks, Dave |

Welcome! The grips look decent. If it is operational, $300 or so? If it were mine, I would put it on auctionarms or gunbroker as a no reserve auction starting at zero to get my best price, or if I were motivated enough, I might disassemble it and sell it as parts. Also may be a candidate for a professional restoration.

Is it 9mm or .30 cal?
I'd have it professionally reblued and shoot it. Keep it in the family. |
