Default Swedish Luger advertisement puzzle

Anybody out there speak Swedish? I captured this jpeg file of a SAKO ad more than a year ago from the internet and the originator said it came from a Swedish gun magazine. Can anyone translate? Did SAKO ever manufacture Lugers or accessories for Lugers?

take note that the front sight blade does not appear to be to the German standard in the photo, but everthing else looks P-08 in origin.

Let see just how knowledgeable this group is... and NO I don't know the answers here.

regards,

John

Default Not Swedish.

Hi John!

I'm Swedish, and this isn't.

From what I see, this is an ad from our neighbor country, Finland.

The bad thing is that Finnish and Swedish is as different as English and Polish or something like that. So I don't know what it says.

John, I can't read the letters well enough, but you can go to this web site and type in the words and get a translation: www.tranexp.com

John, Quite often you will run into these Finnish M23s with the squarer profil high front sights (same blade that they used in their Mauser rifles) and rear sights that have been cut square. If must be to compensate for that hot Lupia 7.65 ammo.

Greetings from Finland.

Too bad that the typing on the ad is pretty darn small. I can't clearly see all the characters.

All in all this is an ad for SAKO pistol ammo. It states that many 1st place standings have been shot with SAKO ammo. "Always ask for SAKO".

This may well be common knowledge among shooting enthusiasts here in Finland what SAKO abreviation stands for. I for one have been living in the dark up until this ad came up.

SAKO name (as it is printyed all in it's mighty on this ad) stands for a National Guard's Armoury and Machining works.

'Suojeluskunta' (which I've translated as a National Guard) was formed up some years after our independence was achieved (sometime in the 1920's). It was a paramilitary organisation, leaning pretty heavily towards anti-communist patriotism.

I hope someone out there found this tidbit useful / enlightening.

BTW - can someone dish out url address where this picture is located (and preferably be bigger than what it is here) ?

Default Artsi - No URL is available

I captured the picture from eBay. Someone actually was auctioning off this page out of a magazine!

The jpeg file is of sufficient quality that if you magnify it with a viewer/editor like paint shop pro, you can read most of what is there except the very fine print.
