don't know about rifle, but the WW2 9mm is not rare, CLOSED its worth $25-$35 a box, perhaps a bit more, opened probably half that?

I have still seen a case or two that someone scrounged up, ammo looking new for sale.

Some years are worth more, I would think 1944 ammo would not be extra valuable.

Up until two years ago I was seeing WWII 9mm ammo at every gun show I went to, and they were selling for about $20 a box. The supply seems to have dwindled, and lately I have seen only an occasional box offered for about $40.

Once the seal is broken, it's just corrosive 9mm ammo. I'd pay 5 bucks a box to shoot for comparison purposes.

If you display your Luger and accessories, it is a great attention getter. My late partner displayed 'scenarios' in a large glass topped case...Pistol, old Life magazine, holster, magazine(s), cartridges (expended & unfired), target, period pictures, an odd piece of machinery (we'd think up a whopper to go with it), uniform parts, etc...and display it at our local gun shows. Getting people to stop and look was the idea. Once they stop, there's always something they can buy...

It's definitely worth $20/box; even the $40/box to people like me. Not to shoot; for display...

There years ago I sold some with broken seals for $35 shipped. Do not shoot the ammo as it is worth more as a collection addition.

Over here they do between 15 and 25 Euros a box, opened or unopened.

The bottom box is Finnish. These boxes were also used (with an additional label glued over the original one) in the 1960s and 1970s for Interarms, using reloaded WW2 components.

The military boxes are standard iron core ammunition. Sintered iron ones (SE) are a bit rarer and thus a wee bit more expensive, but not much.

It's nice stuff to present next to a WW2 pistol. I don't recommend shooting it. This type of ammo can corrode from the inside out if kept in the wrong conditions.
