Portuguese magazine

Hello gents
I have a question about a magazine I picked up a few months ago. It had a broken follower bottom which I had fixed with parts from Tom at Lugerdoc. The tube has the correct markings for a Portuguese magazine,but Tom says the only pulls he had seen for these tubes are wood. I figured it was original due to the M stamp? Any ideas?

It now works flawlessly!

Bob, The markings on your tube, indicate one of Portugese manufacture. The "M" on the alum bottom appears to be cast in, rather than stamped, so it too may be Portugese made. This type of post WW2 mag, usually has a crude light colored wood bottom. The Mauser mags supplied with the GRN contract in 1935, will have the typical nickeled tubes of the period and usually unnumbered alum bottoms. TH

So that could be the original bottom?
I wondered if that bottom was cast with the M.

Glad to be back posting,I have had alot of computer issues,both at work and home lately. Hopefully resolved.

Looks like a "W" rather than an "M" judging by the position of the "1".

There are remnants of the original serial number on the mag bottom, so I tend to believe it is not original.

I have several mags like this all have a wood bottom.

Very interesting though!
