Default BYF 41 Question: Slide Flush w/ Frame?

I have a 41 Byf, all matching. Just under the barrel, where the slide and frame meet, I noticed that these surfaces are not perfectly flush - should they be? Is this something to be concerned about, as a collector, as a shooter. How much variance is acceptable? Is this the result of normal fitting or wear. Overall, it has been rated as original (w/plastic grips) at 90% by knowledgeable collectors. They did not notice this unflushed area - perhaps, I created it when I fired it? Sorry, I can't provide a photo. mm
