My 1911 DWM does not have a hold-open mechanism. I understand that some early ones were produced without them but many were later modified to put one in. I've been told that the modified ones might have had a small pin and a repair proof on the frame to signify a hold-open had been added.
Does anyone have a picture of the pin/proof that I can look for on my gun? Thanks much. Reed |

notice that the refurbish has been "accepted" some people say proof mark, but its an acceptance marking.
