Yes, Bill said he is doing good. Going though some painful therapy, but probably chasing cars by now.

Vince
Thanks for asking. I am doing fine after my double knee replacement. Am just now starting to get interested in the forums again. Am finding out that I don't bounce back like I used to.These knees have not responded like I thought they would. I have been very fortunate and been very healthy for 74 years. Guess i'm just impatient. Bill

Default knee replacement woes

Hi Bill, Good to hear from you, back on the forum.. as a knee replacement guy myself, I can only say that unless you've had it done, you can't possibly understand how debilitating it is, and what Bill is going thru, when compared to other surguries... You literally have to learn to walk all over again.. you spend 1 month just trying to raise your foot.. the next three are spent trying to get the knee past 110 degrees of bend.... and most important, you need a hard core therapist to push you past your pain limits, as there are some, "no compromise" goals that have to be met... And for Bill, you can double all of the above!!
I'm pulling for you Bill, hit that therapy super hard... It's been almost two years for me, and my replaced knee is good as gold, way better then my so called good knee.. I used to pull my self around the therapy room by me heels on an office chair for therapy... I'd go up to new knee replacement patients and tell them, "You can have sobbing and weeping uncontrollably, but I'm in charge of screaming around here!" A fast recovery, and, the Best to you Bill, til...lat'r....GT

Its a long process my mother said, but not that long and she's very glad that she did it!

Bill, glad you are okay. My wife had a total knee replacement last November and is recovering now. We both send our best.

Bill, I'm happy to hear you're find and dandy. A double knee replacement at your advanced age is no picinic. Just take it easy and steady and dont expect them to be as good as when you were a kid, 'cuz it jut ain't gunna ahppen, LOL!

I'm an orthotist and I can tell you that the therapy is your best bet. Trust in what she has to tell you and don't think that she doesn't understand the pain and how hard it is. She does. But she also knows that she has to pretend like it's not that bad so that you will at least try your best. It's a bitch, but it's the only way... :-)

My wife had both hers replaced. The therapy is the key to walking better with full flexibility. It hurt me to watch and help her through the painful therapy but, she's as good as new now. Hell, she has more titanium in her than all my guns.

keep at it Bill. You know the adage, "no pain, no gain". My best to you.

LOL!! Can ya feel the love, Bill?

BTW. I'm going to be in Butte next Thursday night and Friday. If you're not too far from there I could bring ya flowers and a Thera-band.
