Excellent work!

Waffenamting a piece of silver is like putting a license plate on a pig: Pointless.

Let's return to fundmentals. Say, fakes floating on ebay, but did Mauser ever made sterling silver bar, or gold bar, or platinum bar in history? What inspired these metal stuffs on ebay.... pure imagination, or these things do have a historical real stuff to emulate?

Alvin,

Like in most countries, emergency funds were simply printed on paper. The town of Oberndorf am Neckar printed emergency money for example, I saw an example of such a bank note a while ago. Mauser had no need to do so herself, although it may have cooperated with the town.

So these 'silver bars' are just fantasy pieces.

Thanks. Got it. I noticed most silver coins listed on ebay selling their weight value. Collecting coins is easy Of course, need to make sure it's silver, not lead.

Take it back Probably not easy. Pawn store hires professionals to id those.

Pure imagination made possible by the availability of the stamps. At best the seller is either a fool or a crook depending on whether he bought them or made them.

If you didn't know that those stamp were available and didn't know what Waa63 meant, you might fall for it. But I'd think the look of them would be the red flag for most. The Nazis, being a flashy lot known for precision, wouldn't make poured bars like that.

If you google "nazi silver bar" apparently there are a lot of them out there - surprising for something so "rare".

He was not lying. It's rare, relatively. Rare trash is still trash

If I paid $375 for $33 worth of what is hopefully silver, the free gold nugget better be gold, for starters, and also pretty big!

Gold is not cheap these days. I saw people dumping money on gold..... when lots of people realizing something could help them making $$, usually it's late. But lots of "investment" pouring in would more likely create another bubble.
