1916 Erfurt with 4 digit only SN - no letter
I have a 1916 Erfurt with a 4-digit serial number (SN 7x59 all matching including magazine). It has NO LETTER as a part of the serial number. Is this common? Thanks, Bill

It means it was the first 10,000 made that year (started over each year)
