Howdy,
My Uncle picked this up at an estate sale. He asked me about it before the sale and based on what little he could tell me I said hell yeah pick this up! I was really happy when he told me he was able to get it at a bargain price. Well I went to pick up the rifle today and my heart just sank seeing the cut down stock. Arrgghh! Anyway, the rifle is in good condition and I was hoping someone here could tell me a little more about it. I can't find any markings or remains of markings on the stock except an "H" stamped in the wood under the receiver and there's no military acceptance marks on the metal. There's no import marks but it does seem odd to me that "Long Rifle" is in english. The finish is pretty good and looks original. The bolt is numbered and matches the rifle. It's #135924 ModW625B. I was hoping I could find out when it was made. Thx! |

Well, there's not much out on the internets about these little rifles.
I did find some pictures of an unmolested rifle. It looks like mine was made by Simson sometime in the 30's. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/gewehr/...rchive%202.htm I wonder if there are any books about these rifles. |
